Snake Lake

So like we took the dogs up to Snake Lake to get some exercise and they of course ran a muck in the wet grasses near the water. They had so much fun I couldn't even begrudge letting them back into the truck with their black muddy underbellies.

When we got home we sat in the yard and drank some nice red wine even though it was only 2 in the afternoon. Our cedar tree is having a bumper year of those little seed pods they drop and it was really windy so every now and then we'd get hit by one.

Which got Richard to thinking about how a guy was relaxing under a tree in Golden Gate Park when he was hit by a 16 lb pine cone and as a result is now brain damaged for life. Which just goes to show that the statement "Don't go troubling trouble and trouble won't trouble you," isn't necessarily so.

Sometimes Trouble just knocks you in the head. This happend to us when a friend asked us to be there when her daughter gets served the papers which inform her she's losing temporary custody of her son to her mother. This girl has a temper and I foresee trouble.

This was the trouble that sent us out on our ride to Snake Lake to begin with. Beauty soothes a lot of woes and we felt better seeing the beautiful fall day at the lake. And enjoying our dogs. But I got trouble in mind. But I guess you do what you can for your friends. Secretly I think I'm a fair weather friend. I love when my friends experience fair weather.
