list day
So it was Richard's Birthday. He said he was tired of being 75 and had decided to turn 76. We like to drive out to Portola on his birthday because he was born there. We used to go wander around the old abandoned hospital building, but that was burned down a few years ago by a vandal so now we go to the Hospital Thrift Store also known as the Nifty Trifty.
Richard did not find anything for his birthday but he did buy me a necklace, a bracelet, and ring and a pin. How's that for a birthday that isn't even yours?
Then we drove home after a drivng tour of the old homes of Portola, and the fall leaves were really starting to show. I had some more marvelous cole slaw for lunch and then lay down for a nap, listening to Crosby, Stills, and Nash, in particular the Southern Cross which I just love, and I couldn't believe I was listening to music that is 40 years old.
My friend in Seattle is really musical, and I'm going to have to get her to recommend some new music for me to listen to. (note to self)
We had a birthday dinner at my mom and stepdad's house which was delicious. We decided to re-up our earthquake insurance. Oh yeah I picked up a suitcase from my sister that I need for my trip. I need to pick up a box of Mrs. Carey's Candy to take to Seattle (note to self).
It was one of those list type of days, lacking a central theme. Not bad and yet not cohesive.
